BIO
I am a dancer, teacher and researcher of Contact Improvisation and organizer of national and international events including the Italycontactfest (International CI Festival which takes place in Italy and has now reached its tenth edition www.italycontactfest.com) and
of Being Touch Festival (www.beingtouch.org) which combines somatic aspects and Contact Improvisation and I am communicator for the CI Global Calendar project.
I discovered Contact Improvisation many years ago, after having followed a first training in contemporary dance, and I fell love since the first moment.
I mainly trained abroad with many teachers including Steve Paxton, Daniel Lepkoff, Angelika Doney, Asaf Bacharach, KJ Holmes, Anya Cloud and I followed Charlie Morrissey and his research which also includes Material For the Spine.
Material for the Spine is another practice created by Steve Paxton that combines the study of walking, aikido and Contact Improvisation, to explore the possibilities of movement of the spine and the connections between the head, pelvis and vertebrae.
I have had the immense pleasure of training on this practice directly with Steve Paxton and it is mainly about solo work.
For 3 years I followed Michele Marchesani's Tatto Interno training which concerns the relationship between fascia, nervous system and dance.
I strongly believe in the importance of Contact Improvistion for dancers, which includes solo work, somatic and anatomical work, structural and physical work, a training on improvisation (linked to the practices created by Nancy Stark Smith and the Tuning Score created by Lisa Nelson), a training on the senses to develop a state of constant presence and attention and relational and communicative work.
I strongly feel the power of this practice that gives infinite information to the body and tools to improvise and dance.
I am very fascinated by CI texts / documents and I use them in my research and teaching.
I love teaching this practice and every time it is as if the passion is renewed and I love the infinite research that opens in different aspects.
I have taught in numerous festivals, workshops, training courses, intensive courses and classes both abroad and in Italy.
My goal is to make this practice known as much as possible, also analyzing it from the historical point of view, exploring its roots and bringing the social and political aspects that CI opens into physical and listening work.
